Nature Awakens
During one of the first COVID lockdowns I ran into a funny article about penguins touring an empty aquarium in Chicago. I wanted to visually tell the quirky situation as nature awakened and the irony of watching it afar from my isolated bedroom.
I started out from a simple 2D collage illustration of the scene
I loved the idea of showing animals looking at one another, not sure who’s the real spectator. Breaking down the aquarium into it’s different angles, I created an immersive experience questioning whether the penguins and aquarium inhabitants were actually spectating on us.
